You wouldn’t believe how many women come to me and ask if I can help them tone their arms. They look for clothes which cover their arms and feel like their ‘flabby arms’ ages them.
Perhaps you’re feeling the same?
The good news is that I can show you 4 moves that will help you look younger and tone your arms!
Exercises using your arm muscles (When done right… and I can show you how) forces you to engage your core. So, when you do the arms moves, you’ll be working your whole body too. That’s why I love Pilates. Nothing is done in isolation. The body and mind are interconnected, so when you do your arm exercises, you’ll benefit your whole body! Bonus!
Grab some weights. (1-2kg) is great, or some tins from your pantry, and do these with me. There is no magic number of reps or time frame. I don’t count reps. I listen to my body and move until I know work is getting done. Just concentrate on good form and do the moves until you feel the muscles working. Then do a few more!
I like to switch between the moves. So, when I start to feel fatigue doing a move, or I notice my form getting sloppy, I change to a different move. You can then always go back to the original move and do some more!
Here are my top 4 moves to get toned arms
Bicep curls – Keep you palms looking at each other and engage your core. Do some in front and then some out to the side.
Front Row – Tip your body forward on a slight hinge. Bending your knees. Put the weights together and and pull your elbows up to your chin.
Triceps – Take your arms back behind you slightly and bend and straighten your elbows, keeping your upper arm in the same place.
Side Lift – Stand tall and keep everything tight. Take your arms out to the side of you with your palms facing down. Reach your knuckles to the ground. Don’t take your arms higher than your shoulders.
Join me for a video of the moves. Remember to just do as many as you need to, to feel your muscles working.
